Extreme Makeover: Employee Assistance Edition Promotion

Between March and June, Spectrumotion visited 52 Irvine Spectrum area employers to bring free commute assistance to their employees. It was all part of Spectrumotion's Extreme Makeover: Employee Assistance Edition Promotion. These 52 employers agreed that providing this assistance is a necessity when their employees are paying well over $3.00 per gallon of gas to commute to work. Nearly 1,200 commuters registered to receive free rideshare information and their names were also put in a random drawing for one of six great prizes.
Initially, the promotion was to conclude at the end of April, but due to the huge demand, Spectrumotion extended the promotion through June. Prizes for the original contest period were awarded as planned with duplicate prizes added for the extended period.
Spectrumotion would like to send a special thank you to all of the employers that invited us on-site during the promotion to provide valuable rideshare information to their employees. Their participation fueled the success of the promotion.

Irvine Transportation Center Parking Relief

|
Parking relief at the highly utilized Irvine Transportation Center (ITC) is on the way. Construction of the 1500 space parking structure should begin in early 2007. In the mean time, the agricultural field on the southeast side of the ITC will become a temporary parking lot during construction. The temporary lot will break ground in November 2006 and will offer 488 parking spaces by its completion in January/February 2007. Once the temporary parking lot is operational, construction on the four story parking structure will begin and should be operational by early 2008. Construction will displace approximately 350 parking spaces however, the temporary lot will accommodate the displaced parking along with an additional 140 spaces. In addition, the City of Irvine has completed the re-striping of Ada, adding 58 parking spaces to the Irvine Transportation Center parking capacity.

OCTA Launches Express Service from Chino to Irvine Spectrum
|
Commuters traveling to Irvine Spectrum from Chino, Chino Hills, Diamond Bar and Brea now have a real alternative to driving alone. On July 3, the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) introduced Route 758, one of its new Intercounty Express Bus services.
This new service features comfortable high-backed, reclining seats as well as lap trays, individual reading lights and power connections. There are limited stops and the bus will utilize freeway carpool lanes along the 57 and 5 freeways to cut travel time. The special introductory fare is only $1.25 each way for six months. Commuters that register with Spectrumotion for rideshare information or incentives are entered into our commuter database. The database is used to match commuters with potential carpool partners along with keeping statistical data on commute behavior in Irvine Spectrum.
