How About Some Pizza to go with that Carpool?

Spectrumotion has been assisting commuters find an easier way to get to their jobs in the Irvine Spectrum for more than 18 years.  In that time, we have learned the most effective method of informing commuters about our free service and the commute options available to them is to meet with them in person.  We have also found that many more commuters are interested in some form of ridesharing than you would ever imagine.  By bringing the information to them and addressing their questions and concerns face to face, they realize how easy it is to get started and how much they can benefit from it.

Over the years, we have visited literally hundreds of Irvine Spectrum employers.  From rideshare fairs, employee meetings and health and wellness fairs to dedicated Spectrumotion events, we have attended almost every type of special employee get-together.  We would love to visit your company too.  Even if we’ve visited you before, a yearly visit may be beneficial so that your new employees can get up to speed.

As an added incentive to your employees, we routinely visit employers first thing in the morning or around noon and provide a free breakfast snack or pizza lunch to those who stop by and register to receive a Personal Commute Profile - this is our analysis of an individual’s commute with all their commute options identified.  We present potential carpool partners, vanpools that serve their home area, appropriate train and bus service and even bike and walking routes for those that live close enough.  Everyone that signs up also gets to spin our new “Wheel of Motion” for a chance to win a prize on the spot.

Why not have us visit your company?  We do all the work and you will be surprised by how many of your employees and coworkers are interested.  To schedule a visit, contact Lea Gould at (949) 72-SHARE (727-4273).  Žv

2004 California Rideshare Week a Huge Success

With Spectrumotion offering Irvine Spectrum Center gift certificates to employers for distributing information to their employees, California Rideshare Week was the most successful in recent memory.  Thirteen Irvine Spectrum employers distributed the information about prizes that could be won by commuters who pledged to rideshare during the week of October 4 – 8, 2004.  The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) provided the information which told commuters how to begin ridesharing and how to register to win.  In a random drawing of those thirteen companies, Liebert Corporation won a $500 gift certificate and Motorcycle Industry Council won a $250 gift certificate, both good at any store or restaurant at the Irvine Spectrum Center.

As a result of this effort, 15 lucky Irvine Spectrum commuters who registered actually won prizes!  Prizes ranged from two $250 shopping sprees to retail gift certificates and even free Metrolink tickets.  Of course, everyone who shares a ride wins, whether during Rideshare Week or any day.  Ridesharing saves time, money and can reduce the stress associated with commuting.  Congratulations to all the winners.

If you were unable to participate this year, don’t worry.  California Rideshare Week is an annual event and we would be glad to provide you with information about how to participate in 2005. Call us at (949) 72-SHARE (727-4273) for all the details.  Žv

Irvine Spectrum Employers Shine at Mercury Mobility Awards

The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) held the first annual Mercury Mobility Awards lunch on November 10 at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of Orange County employers and commuters who are committed to making a difference for improved air quality and less traffic congestion in our region.

Irvine Spectrum employers were well represented, receiving two major awards.  Liebert Corporation received the Mercury Mobility Award for Outstanding Employer Participation in California Rideshare Week in recognition of the fact that more than 13 percent of their employees registered to rideshare for the promotion.  In addition, a special Rideshare Program of the Year Mercury Mobility Award was presented by Spectrumotion to Option One Mortgage Corporation. Option One offers their employees a comprehensive rideshare incentive package that includes a financial incentive of up to $125 per month.  Other awards included the Chairman’s Award, Innovative Rideshare Week Campaign, Outstanding Commuter and Employer Transportation Coordinator of the Year.

A keynote address was delivered by Gary Miller, Representative of the 42nd Congressional District with Pat Haslam, local radio personality, acting as Master of Ceremonies.

Spectrumotion would like to congratulate all the award winners especially Liebert Corporation and Option One Mortgage.  As always, Spectrumotion stands ready to assist any commuter or employer who would like to become involved in this very worthy cause.  Who knows, you may be one of the award winners next year.  Contact us at (949) 72-SHARE (727-4273) to get started today.
