Commuter Winner
Julie Huynh
Julie works for ZC Sterling as a Verification Operator in their Escrow Insurance Department. She has been carpooling to her jobsite for two years and loves how much money she's saving by sharing the ride to work. Julie started carpooling to work with her sister who also worked at ZC Sterling, now she rideshares with a co-worker friend. When asked what she'll do with her winnings, Julie happily said, "share it with my parents first, then pay some bills."

Commuter Winner
Jeff Schreck
Jeff is employed as an Engineering Tech II for Irvine Ranch Water District, and spends his time focusing on GIS analysis/map-making for his employer. He bikes two to three day per week (13 miles one way) to his jobsite. Jeff has cycled to work for the past six to seven years (long before gas prices sky-rocketed) and realized the significant amount of money he's saving by doing so. "By riding a bike to work, you save money on gas and have improved health all at the same time."

Recruiter Winner
Christina Sanchez-Koppelberg
Christina works for VESystems (contractor for the Transportation Corridor Agencies) as a Customer Service Representative. Her name was randomly selected from dozens of other individuals who "recruited" (or encouraged) co-workers to try an alternative mode of commuting to work. Christina bikes to work 14 miles one way and prefers to ride mostly in the summer due to the great weather. "It (cycling) keeps you young, saves gas and is the best low impact sport." Christina shared with us that she will used her winnings to visit her son in Utah.

The Money Tree started out with 5,500 blooms (i.e. dollars) at the beginning of May and thanks to the 1,548 commuters who pledged to rideshare during May and June, it ended up with 7,048. That means that our three winners each received $2,350 in cash (7,048 blooms divided by three)!
